Seeking Energy Research Partner

ARPA-E issued an initial solicitation that will focus on applicants with a well-formed R&D plan for a transformational concept or new technology that can make a significant contribution towards attainment of the President’s Energy Plan. ARPA-E anticipates awards totaling up to $150 million under this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). LBNL is interested in partnering with qualified companies and research institutions submitting proposals for research to be conducted with ARPA-E funding. Students from the Cleantech to Market Program Deliver Success

Even if your solar cell materials are dirt cheap, how efficient do they have to be to compete on the market? Why might isopentanol be a better biofuel than ethanol or butanol ? What are the technical, economic, and policy drivers that influence innovation in a mature industry like boilers?
