• MSD 010: Introduction to Environment, Health, and Safety in the Materials Sciences Division
  • EHS 405: General Employee Radiation Training
    To comply with DOE Regulatory Requirement 10CFR835.910(a) , all LBNL employees and guests must complete a General Employee Radiation Training course.
    Therefore, EHS 405 is required for all new employees and guests and EHS 406 (GERT retraining) is required every two years for exisiting employees and guests. The options available for completing GERT training, EHS 405 and 406, are as follows.
    • Attend the monthly presentation of EHS 10 "Introduction to EH&S at LBNL" which includes GERT training and sign the roster to receive course credit.
    • Read the hard copy of the GERT pamphlet at an LBNL HR division or facility GERT Administration Site to receive course credit.
    • Read the GERT pamphlet, Pub-3152, on line and submit your employee number to receive course credit.
    • The 11-page GERT pamphlet, Pub-3152, is also available in hard copy from the EH&S Training Office (Ext. 7366).

• EHS 531: Fire Extinguisher Safety Refresher
  • OHSA require that all personnel trained in the use of portable fire extinguishers (i.e. those MSD employees/guest that have taken EHS 530, Fire Extinguisher Safety) receive an annual refresher. This document constitutes this required refresher. After you have read it, write an e-mail to the MSD EHS Administrator indicating that you have done so and course credit will be issued.
