Human Resources’ (HR) mission is to foster the recruitment, retention and development of exceptional scientific, engineering and operational talent to achieve Berkeley Lab’s mission. As your HR Partner, our goal is to work with the Division to support and anticipate your HR needs and provide consultation, planning and innovative solutions regarding HR issues.

As lead for the Life Sciences HR Center Team, responsible for administering a variety of human resources programs including employee and labor relations; performance management; compensation; reclassifications; workforce planning; and providing consultation to supervisors and managers regarding HR policies and programs.

Responsible for staffing for scientific, postdoctoral and nonscientific appointments; reclassifications, award programs, promotions, compensation, performance management; processing Personnel Action Forms (PAFs); and providing consultation to supervisors and managers regarding HR policies and programs including visa and IRSO issues.

Responsible for providing recruitment for Life Sciences including:  creating postings, advertising open jobs, assisting with suitable search guidelines, preparing recruitment plans, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, and assistance with developing interview questions.

Provides HR administrative support and is responsible for the hiring of students, GSRAs, guests and contract labor; tracks and extends appointments for students, guests, limited and term employees; processes PAFs and Service Pins; maintains personnel files; and provides general information regarding HR procedures and programs.
