Human Resources

Human Resources’ (HR) mission is to foster the recruitment, retention and development of exceptional scientific, engineering and operational talent to achieve Berkeley Lab’s mission. As the Life Sciences Division HR partner, its goal is to work with the Division to support and anticipate HR needs and provide consultation, planning and innovative solutions regarding HR issues.

Human resources services for Life Sciences are provided through the Computing Sciences and Biosciences (Comp-Bio) HR Center.

Leave administration
Spot Award administration

An HR team of three assistants provides shared HR administrative support for the HR Center and is responsible for:

Hires of GSRAs and student assistants
Rehired retiree appointments/extensions
Tracking and extension of student, limited and term appointments
Processing of ePAFs
Referrals to Lab resources and services
