THE GREEN TEAM

Mission/Statement of Purpose
The Green Team was formed to provide opportunities for Laboratory employees to:
- Learn more about ecology and the environment.
- Participate in ecological and environmental activities to improve their working environments at Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory and in their communities.

Previous Activities
- Completed distribution of worms for home worm composting
- Distribution of quarterly newsletter containing environmental information of interest to employees
- Public Lecture on "Waste Minimization at LBNL" by Li Yang Chang, EHS Division
- Public Lecture on "Saving our Beaches" by Jack Liebster, California Coastal Commission
- Organization of planning committee to develop a community garden at LBNL
- Organization of a Litter Team to assist occupants of buildings to improve their local environments
- Organization of an Adopt a Beach Committee to participate in community activities sponsored by the
California Coastal Commission
Current Members - Our current membership numbers over 120 people
- We have approximately 20 active members
