All career, term, and temporary employees,
as well as Participating Guests and Contractors,
need to contact the Site
Access Office to receive an ID/Prox card.
This ID/Prox card provides access to the Laboratory,
as well as access to various buildings. Site
Access is located in Building 65, lower level,
and is open from 8 AM to 12 noon and from 1
to 4 PM. A current appointment must be verified
before an ID/Prox card will be issued. Please
contact your administrative support person
to determine if a copy of your most recent
paperwork is required and must be brought to
the Site Access Office. (Foreign visitors need
to call the Foreign Visitors Office at
ext. 6515 to go over the necessary paperwork
and to make an appointment with the Site Access
Office.)
Casual visitors coming to the Laboratory need to be granted access
in advance by a host contact. Please stop at one of the entrance gates
for a parking permit and day pass. The host must provide this information
in advance to the Gate Officers regarding expected casual visitors.
Vendors must contact the Site Access Office for temporary parking permits.
Parking
Parking permits are granted to all career employees, and temporary
parking permits are granted to some term or temporary laboratory employees
as well as some Participating Guests and vendors. Please refer to Regulations
and Procedures Manual (RPM) Section 1.04, Operation and Parking of Vehicles
at LBNL (http://www.lbl.gov/Workplace/RPM/R1.04.html) to determine eligibility.
Then fill out the Parking Permit Application Form either on-line at
http://www.lbl.gov/Workplace/site-access/parking, or at the Site Access
Office in Building 65. Parking permit applications must be returned
to the Site Access Office in person.
Security
For nonemergency concerns, please contact Burns Security at the Blackberry
Gate (ext. 5472). In case of an emergency, call ext. 7911.
