Appendix E
EH&S Training Instructor Qualifications and Criteria

 

Instructors of all EH&S courses and/or division customizations of EH&S courses (such as PGF 10, PGF 26, PGF 135) are expected to demonstrate appropriate qualifications for a given course as well as maintain the following Instructor Criteria:

  • Maintain current certification where applicable.
  • Possess expert knowledge and/or equivalent experience in subject matter.
  • Understand training pedagogy.
  • Apply current training techniques and methodology.
  • Conduct annual or biennial course curriculum reviews and updates.
  • Be punctual and prepared, provide follow up when needed, and identify a backup instructor. (The supervisor/group leader must approve the selection of the backup instructor.)
  • Assess and measure student competency.
  • Review student course evaluation for feedback and improvement.
  • Participate in the EH&S Instructors’ Group Meetings.
  • Participate in in-house workshops that focus on key competencies of effective instruction.
