- Badges are issued in two locations:
- General information: LBNL badges are issued upon verification of LBNL employment or affiliate status. These badges are programmed according to an individual's employment or affiliate status. Badges for individuals with expiration dates are automatically deactivated upon completion of the appointment. The LBNL badge serves a dual purpose: as an identification badge and as an LBNL access card. Upon termination of employment or affiliate status, the badge must be returned to Site Access. All lost or stolen badges must be reported to the Site Access as soon as possible.
- Retiree badge: In order for employees (about to retire or retired) to receive a retiree badge, the employee must go to the Benefits Section and obtain a signed letter showing the retirement date. The employee must take the signed letter to the Site Access Office in order to receive a Retiree badge.
- Mandatory training: General Employee Radiological Training (GERT) is mandatory for all Berkeley Lab employees and affiliates before a badge can be issued. Go here to take training. Go here to see your training status.
