Strategy for IT Integration and Development

The EHSS strategy for IT Integration and Development seeks to consolidate 45 existing EHSS systems into 4-6 major EHS platforms grouped by related lines of business (IH, Medical Services, cradle-to-grave chemical/waste management, etc.). We will leverage commercially available systems where possible; integrate with other existing and future LBNL systems where possible and consistent with an IT enterprise architecture (LMS, Maximo,..); and leave as few in-house developed and stand-alone applications as possible.

The primary purposes of this project are to: improve the quality and value of EHS services delivered to the Lab users and stakeholders; improve end-user experience and make it easier to engage EHS functions; improve the completeness, quality, integration, accessibility, and transparency of ESH information; make EHS operations more efficient by streamlining and automating processes; add ESH functionalities that are currently missing, but needed; and lower total cost of ownership of IT systems (maintenance, operations, and project development).
