During prolonged chronic exposure, many body systems can be affected by lead, including the brain, kidneys, muscles, bones, the blood forming system and the reproductive system.  Reported acute health effects include flu-like illness, encephalophy, coma and death.  However,  it is unlikely that occupationally related exposure would result in any acute illness.
