The Environment/Health/Safety/Security division helps Berkeley Lab staff perform their work safely and in an environmentally sound manner.

Policy Updates
Fire Barrier Awareness Training
EHS0146 identifies and explains common fire barriers and how to prevent them from becoming compromised. The target audience is Division Safety Coordinators, Building Managers, Building Emergency Team members, and Facility Division personnel involved in maintenance, renovation, and construction.
PPE Changes When Handling Cryogenic Liquids
Those handling cryogenic liquids can learn about the changes in PPE requirements listed in Chapter 29.4.D.2 of Pub 3000. A revised table describes required PPE for routine handling of liquid nitrogen. For further information, contact Scott Robinson (x7955).
