Lab scientists interested in using one of the parallel processing
supercomputers at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing
Center are encouraged to apply for time on the SGI/CRAY T3E. The
Lab and NERSC are making 50,000 hours of time available to researchers
here as a means of expanding the Lab's computational science program.
Proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1.
NERSC, established in 1974,
provides high performance computing services to DOE's Energy Research
programs at national laboratories, universities and industry. The
facility has been located at Berkeley Lab since May 1996. Berkeley
Lab is a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory located
in Berkeley, CA. It conducts unclassified research and is managed
by the University of California.
