The Proposal Process

Proposal Submission Deadlines:

Submission Type	BPDC Deadline Prior to Sponsor's Deadline*
NIH non-P01 Continuations	4 working days
DOD Annual and Final Reports	4 working days
NIH P01 (all LBNL) Continuations	7 working days
NIH P01 (multi-institutional) Continuations	13 working days
R01-type Proposals, including Fellowships (New, Renewal, Resubmission)	7 working days
Annual and Final Scientific Reports (other than NIH and DOD)	7 working days
P01-type Proposals (New, Renewal, Resubmission)	12 working days

* These dates represent the BPDC deadline in working days PRIOR to the Sponsor's deadline. All aspects of the proposal will be due in final and completed form from the PI on the BPDC deadline at 10:00 a.m. Individual requests for extensions to these deadlines must be obtained from the cognizant Divisional Approver by the PI. In addition, if the PI wishes to make any changes to the proposal after the BPDC deadline, the PI will need to receive approval from the Division Approver. If approval is not received, changes will not be made.
