LBNL Security / Building Access
The LBNL security desk in the lobby is staffed from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and can be reached at 486-5099. The desk is attended by security guards from Landmark Protection Corporate Security, a security company contracted by LBNL.
Exterior Patrols/Escorts
From 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, two Landlord security officers patrol the Aquatic Park Center,
one by car that roves the parking lot and another who walks the premises and

or foot patrol (367-3392) to escort you to your car or bike parked
on site (outdoors/garage). Note that these officers secure the outside
of the building only, not the interior space. They do not have keys to the Biocenter.

Subcontractor Job Hazards Assurance
To those who oversee work by subcontractors, vendors, or guests performing ON-SITE, HANDS ON WORK, a Subcontractor Job Hazards Assurance (sJHA) is required.
Here is the web link for the overall SJHA process: http://www.lbl.gov/ehs/ssa/nssa/index.shtml (Contains documents and guidance for implementing the requirements for "Non-Construction Safety Assurance for Subcontractors, Vendors, and Guests at LBNL Facilities".)
The procedure applies to:
1. Work to be performed on new or revised service subcontracts including onsite installation or warranty service related to equipment purchases.
2. Work being performed on existing service subcontracts that pre-date a division's implementation of PUB-3000 Chapter 31.
3. Work to be performed onsite by Guests without a subcontract.

or Andrew Peterson, AFPeterson@lbl.gov, 486-5383
To request card key access or office keys contact the Building Manager:

Access for services and vendors
Any vendor or repair person who needs to come on-site has to have an insurance certificate amendment in place with the landlord. BEFORE arranging any vendor or repair person to come on-site, check with the Building Manager to see if the necessary documents are in place. If you place a work or purchase order via LBNL Procurement, the designated buyer should arrange for the certificate. Please refer questions to Maureen Cowger in Procurement, MKCowger@lbl.gov. You may also contact the Building Manager.
Access for guests
Expected guests: Biocenter occupants need to call the security desk at 486-5099 with the name, time expected, company name and host name of guest. All guests (expected and unexpected) are required to sign in at the security desk upon arrival. A parking permit should be displayed on the dashboard of cars parked in the outdoor lots.
4. PARKING - Parking permit required & SAFETY
With a Wareham parking permit you may park in all non-designated parking spaces at the Aquatic Park Center outdoors. Parking permits are available at the LBNL Security Desk. Visitors (either LBNL employees or others) may pick up a temporary parking permit at this desk. They may also download this permit here, complete it and place on their car dashboard. Regular visitors can obtain a permanent parking permit at the same desk. The Landlord will tow cars that are parked without parking permit (towing charges to be paid by owner).
You can only enter the garage via the main door located to the left of the 725 Potter Street entrance/lobby (the building opposite of 717). When this door is locked, it can be opened by entering a numerical security code on the keypad or by contacting the security guard.
The indoor garage (under building 725) is available 24 hours a day. Pedestrians/bikers can exit via a main door.
If you plan to park your car on site for over 48 hours (due to a business trip, etc.), please inform the Building Manager and give the information below. If you fail to inform him, your car may be towed by the Landlord (towing charges to be paid by owner).
Bicycle parking
Bike racks are located in the garage on the first floor. In addition, 12 bike
lockers are located at the north-east corner of the Biocenter building. The LSD contact is Kat Wentworth.
No bikes are allowed inside the building. Bikes parked outside the designated areas (not parked in racks or in lockers) will be removed.
