Pilot Vehicle Requirements

LBNL Truck Pilot / Escort Service

Trucks 40 feet and over in length (bumper to bumper) are required to be piloted from the LBNL security gate to the on-site destination and return from the destination to the security gate.

To schedule a pilot car service, contact work request center at wrc@lbl.gov or call Tracy Osmer at x6274 with specific information i.e. date, time of arrival & departure, location of the delivery, entrance gate, name of the company of the truck.

Pilot car service is available Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. For service during off hours and weekends a project number is required via a work order.

Note: Capital construction projects are required to provide a project number for all pilot services and non-construction projects do not provide a project number for regular work hours of the pilot car staff. For more information contact Tammy Brown x5232.
