The Casi card access control card readers have
been installed in most primary exterior doors as well as individual lab
and experimental areas. In order to gain access to any building or any individual
laboratory, please locate the Security Access Manager (SAM) administrator
for the individual building. The ID/Proximity card is linked to the HR database
and your current LBNL appointment status at the Laboratory. If your LBNL
appointment end date has expired, then your access will be suspended.
One of the features of the Casi card access
control system is the capability to de-centralize access control. Each
Division or major program controls access to their respective areas. The
people who control access are known as Security Access Managers (SAMs).
In order to request access to specific locations, please contact the Security
Access Manager. The manager determines your need for access and takes
the appropriate actions.
If you encounter
problems with your access card, please contact the Site Access Office
at x4551 or siteaccess@lbl.gov.
The Casi card access control system is being installed in all exterior perimeter doors in most buildings as well as individual labs. As each new building is completed, a Medico key lock is installed. Great Grand Masters and/or Building Masters are for emergency use ONLY.
Please call the Lock Shop (x7668) if you do not know who to contact for building, office, or lab keys.
Download the current key request for a Great Grand Master and/or Building Master key authorization form (RTF format).
