The Best Practices Diversity Council is a new initiative whose
purpose
is to strengthen Laboratory diversity efforts by taking advantage
of
accomplishments at the division level. Our goal is to provide a
world-
class work environment that can recruit and retain a workforce that
reflects the diversity of the local community and the nation. The
Council provides a forum for identifying and sharing programs and
practices that have proven their effectiveness in enhancing diversity.
According to Director Charles Shank, the Council intends "to
leverage
the 'best-in-class' activities being undertaken by each division
and
implement these across the Laboratory."
