Hints and Suggestions
The manner in which you use these forms depends on the following factors:
1. The Web browser used, i.e. Mosaic, Netscape, etc.
2. The Web Browser configuration.
3. The platform you use ( Mac, PC, UNIX).
4. Having Microsoft Word available or another viewer that supports RTF.
The forms and instructions are stored in Rich Text Format and have
been designed by each sponsoring department. Generally selecting the
form will bring up a compatiable application with the document loaded.
You can then fill out the form and save it to your local system or save
the blank form for later use.
If you are using mosaic and wish to capture the form directly, then
select "load to disk" under the "option" menu before selecting the form.
If the form does not load into your application software ( i.e. Word)
then ensure that the viewer is configured properly ( step 2.) and that
your application can handle RTF ( step 4.).
If you are using netscape, then the form will either come up in Word
or you will be prompted to "Configure a Viewer". Select "Configure a
Viewer" and use the "Browse" button to find Word. If you instead wish
to capture the form as a local file, then select "Save to Disk". If the
form does not load into your application software ( i.e. Word) then ensure
that the viewer is configured properly ( step 2.) and that your application
can handle RTF ( step 4.).
