Tuition Reimbursement Program
Important Information!! Please Read!!

California Section 127 Educational Assistance Plan - Effective 7/1/02
UC has implemented a Section 127 Educational Assistance plan to comply with recent changes to the Internal Revenue Service Code, which exclude tuition reimbursement for graduate-level, career-related programs as taxable income to a maximum of $5,250 per calendar year. Previously, this tuition reimbursement was taxable. Tuition reimbursement for graduate level, position-related courses continues to be non-taxable and has no annual limit. Undergraduate tuition reimbursement is non-taxable. If you have any questions, please read the Tuition Reimbursement Plan or call Karen Paris at x5122.

Tuition Reimbursement Form & Instructions - Download the Tuition Reimbursement Form. Please complete the form and submit to EDT. After processing, the form will be returned to you until you finish the courses in progress. Follow the instructions and return the form to EDT, with all original signatures, for final processing. Forms with photocopied signatures can not be accepted.

Employee Development Plan - Crucial to LBNL's vision to distinguish itself as a premiere national laboratory is the expectation that all employees perform their responsibilities with excellence. Excellence is achieved through employee development that maximizes each staff member's potential and contributions. Employee development is a partnership between the employee and the supervisor that involves 1) improving performance in the present job; 2) mastering responsibilities in the present job; and 3) career planning and development.

UC Berkeley Fee Reduction Program Information - This program reduces tuition fees by two-thirds for full-time employees enrolled as full-time UC Berkeley students. This program is distinct from LBNL's Tuition Reimbursement Program. If you qualify, the two programs may be used together for incredible tuition savings. If you are eligible (please read the program information) then contact ED&T with your full name, UC Student ID#, Social Security number, and your university status (Undergraduate, Graduate, or Evening MBA).
