eSRA is the new enterprise system being developed for electronic submittal and tracking of LBNL proposals as well as non-financial award management.  It will provide many features not available in existing systems. The development team of OSPIP, BSA, IT, and the Huron Consulting Group is working to provide a time-saving and easy to use system that also ensures compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.


eSRA Training for the Spring 2014 delopment will be scheduled through Employee Self Service and some online

e-learning modules.


Written guides for the pre-May eSRA system are available at eSRA Training.



All WFO proposals should now go through eSRA.

eSRA Rollout Schedule (Updated March 2014)
All of the Lab's WFO proposals go through eSRA
May 2014

All New federal and non-federal proposals will be submitted using eSRA. Continuations, amendments and supplements to existing awards will be
prepared in RAPID or eSRA depending on the parent award.

October 2014

DOE Direct proposals, including those submitted via will be submitted in eSRA replacing the FBSS system in PeopleSoft. Training will begin to be provided to divisions prior-to and after 10/1/2014.


The RAPID Grants system will be de-activated as part of the deployment of the new F$M financial system.


Proposals for M & O Conractors, DOE OPS, CRADAs, Funded Gifts and Funded User Agreements and MLA/ILAs will have have basic tracking in eSRA.


Workarounds Outside of eSRA as of October 2014: Equipment Gifts, Unfunded CRADAs, Unfunded User Agreements, LDRD and Indirect Budgets. Full eSRA functionality for these lines of business will be developed later.

Continued development of eSRA will bring full functionality to the lines of business not fully deployed in Fall 2014.
