NIH Commons PI and Postdoc On–Line Registration
PIs must be registered in NIH Commons prior to submission of any NIH proposal.
Students with one month or more work effort on an NIH award must register in NIH Commons through their educational institution and provide their User ID to the Berkeley Lab PI so that it can be included in progress reports. UC Berkeley Students should contact RBennetts@ucb.edu . Students should not request registration with is form.
Postdocs with one month or more work effort on an NIH award must register in NIH Commons so that it can be included in progress reports. Postdocs are only required to be registered in NIH Commons for submission of applications if they are applying for a fellowship award which would have them listed as the PI of that application.
PIs and postdocs (not students) should complete and submit the Berkeley Lab Online Registration Form below for first time registration. If you have an existing registration with another organization, scroll to the bottom of the page to request affiliation using the existing ID. Scientists are not allowed mulitple registrations.
The Office of Sponsored Projects and Industry Partnerships (OSPIP) will begin your registration into the NIH eRA Commons or establish the affiliation.
For first-time registrations you will receive a follow-up e-mail from NIH to complete your registration. You must complete that step in order to be fully registered.
If you have additional questions regarding NIH Commons, please review NIH Common's Frequently Asked Questions at https://commons.era.nih.gov/commons/faq.jsp
- I have an eRA Commons ID through another institution. I need to affiliate with LBNL.
