Foreign Currency Conversion

For those of you who need to convert foreign currency into US dollars, there is a free tool that will make your life easier:  FXpense: Expense Report Manager.  Available from Oanda- a popular currency site, the tool allows you to enter a series of expenses in whatever currency was used and generate a report with the exchange rate in US dollars (or whatever your home currency may be).

Here’s how to do it:

• Go to http://www.oanda.com/
• Once you are in the site:
• Click on “Travelers” which you’ll find in the middle of the blue bar near the top of the page. It will take you to “Travel Currency Tools and Resources
• Under “Business Traveler”, click on “FXPense: Calculate Your FX Expenses”.
• At that point, you’ll have the option of creating an account or using their “lite” version which does not require a login. The nice thing about creating an account is that it will allow you to save reports and export them in XLS format.
