The Tech Transfer Process

This is a detailed look at  the steps involved in moving an invention from the Lab to the marketplace.  For an important overview of your responsibilities as an inventor, please see What You Need to Know and Do.

Invent or Develop Software or Produce Tangible Research Product

The transfer of technology begins with an invention, development of computer software, or a tangible research product. We focus here on inventions in describing the process and point out any major differences that apply to other forms of intellectual property.
