Richard helped to develop this space-ship-looking device named a monopod. This tool reduces the time it takes to do a survey and increases the accuracy of a survey. One especially useful feature is that it holds the height of a mounted surveying instrument at a constant. Made of carbon fiber, it resists temperature changes, which means that once a monopod is set up, it does not need to be constantly readjusted as the temperature changes during a survey. Each monopod is equipped with adjustable tripod assembly supports to make it super stable and make the survey accurate.
