How About a Glass of Diffused Vegetable Dye?
 

 

 
  • Fill a glass with tap water.
  • Let the water sit for a minute, until it is still.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring.
What force makes the food coloring spread? The ions tend to spread evenly, or diffuse, through the space available to them.

In an hour or so the food coloring has diffused throughout the water in the glass.
