(1) Parking Enforcement System for LBNL Employees and Non-Employees Eligible for Parking Privileges (for details on eligibility, please see www.lbl.gov/Workplace/RPM/R1.04.html ) Any eligible employee or non-employee who accumulates six points in any consecutive ninety day period, or ten points in a year will have his/her parking privileges at the Berkeley Lab suspended for thirty working days. This penalty applies to drivers of government vehicles as well as private vehicles. Violation of this suspension will result in either :   Disciplinary actions Vehicle immobilization (Boot vehicle) Additional 3 points accrued within 180 days after suspension of parking privileges ends will result in disciplinary actions. OFFENSES POINTS PENALTY Parking in an unauthorized space such as a loading zone, an unmarked area, in an area not allowed by permit type (for example, general parking permit in an orange-circle parking space) 2 1st Violation Notification to both the violator and supervisor. Point accrual has begun. Parking Violation Notice placed on vehicle. 2nd Violation Notification to both the violator and supervisor. Loss of parking privileges is imminent. Parking Violation Notice placed on vehicle. 3rd Violation Disciplinary actions and/or vehicle immobilization (boot vehicle). Failure to display permit 2 Failure to display stacked parking information card in stacked parking 2 Failure to adhere to posted instructions   2 Unauthorized parking in a handicapped zone 3 1st Violation Notification to both the violator and supervisor. Point accrual has begun. Parking Violation Notice placed on vehicle. 2nd Violation Loss of parking privileges. Parking Violation Notice placed on vehicle. 3rd Violation Disciplinary actions and/or vehicle immobilization (boot vehicle). Parking in a red zone 3   Parking in a manner that creates an imminent safety hazard (for example, blocking a traffic lane) 3 Any moving violation 3   (2) Parking Enforcement System for LBNL Employees and Non-Employees Not Eligible for Parking Privileges (for details on eligibility, please see www.lbl.gov/Workplace/RPM/R1.04.html ) If a pattern of abuse is detected, the Parking Policy Committee will make recommendations for disciplinary actions according to RPM Section 2.05B and to the cognizant Division Director. OFFENSES PENALTY Illegally obtaining a one-day permit 1st Violation Parking Violation Notice placed on vehicle (one time notice only). 2nd Violation Notification to both the violator and supervisor - warning of impending vehicle immobilization (boot vehicle) and disciplinary actions. 3rd Violation Vehicle immobilization (Boot vehicle). 4th Violation (a) Vehicle immobilization (Boot vehicle). (b) Further disciplinary actions. Failure to park in lay down area (applicable to Construction Contract Workers only) Parking in an unauthorized space such as a loading zone, an unmarked area, in an area not allowed by permit type (for example, general parking permit in an orange-circle parking space) Blocking another vehicle Failure to display permit Failure to display stacked parking information card in stacked parking Failure to adhere to posted instructions Unauthorized parking in a handicapped zone Parking in a red zone Parking in a manner that creates an imminent safety hazard (for example, blocking a traffic lane) Any moving violation 07/10/00
