The BPDC will provide a forum for council members to leverage and
implement diversity best practices and processes in their divisions,
while integrating the Laboratory's diversity initiative as a whole.
The foundation of the Laboratory’s diversity initiative rests
on the achievement of the following goals:
- Innovative actions to foster an inclusive work environment
that makes full use of the contribution of all employees
- A workforce that reflects and embraces the diversity of our
community
Functional objectives:
- Create synergy between division/department diversity action
plans and initiatives
- Develop a diversity best practices framework and grow best practices
models across the Laboratory
- Mentor new initiatives
- Visibly recognize and communicate diversity best practices achievement
throughout the Laboratory
- Identify and address emerging issues
- Welcome the views of outside speakers
- Develop a Lab-wide diversity scorecard
