1. Welcome new members: Maurice Garcia-Sciveres, Chris Bebek
2. Meeting time OK for everyone : 2nd Monday of every month, 11am
3. Self-Assessment Status: Stats have improved (probably all green); New HEAR forms for hazard reviews not all collected yet.
4. Project Reviews:
A. John's X-ray safety documents - No change, just formatting.
We continue to require radiation dosimeters for x-ray machine use.
Project approved for coming year.
B. Liquid Argon (Handout) - Test successful.
*Action Item: Richard & Kathie will work on AHD for this project.
Project approved; AHD to follow.
C. ATLAS Pixel Detector (Handout) - Bldg. 51; 80% completed.
Some crane use involved. Preassembled in Bldg. 60. Open pit
near operation. Friction studies to be done. May involve other
thermal studies.
Project approved. S. Dardin will notify of any changes.
D. ATLAS Composite Lab (Handout) - In Bldg. 77. Misc. cutting
with scissors and razor blades. Use of chest freezer. Walk-in
freezer soon to come. Autoclave to come about February '02.
There is no designated space for this yet. This is a long project;
we will be advised as issues arise.
There are some issues to address:
- Heatload? Floorloading?
- Epoxy use? Gloves will be used.
- Carbon fiber hazard? **Action Item: Carole Fried to check into
this.
Project approved for coming year.
5. Building 60: LHC is using a lot of Bldg. 60. S. Dardin is contact. We will present documentation from Bill Elliott. Building is accessed via card key with approval of Steve Dardin only.
6. Misc. Issues:
A. Who informs matrixed employees of Division policies? This
is also a Lab-wide problem.
*Action Item: Better communication methods; work on MOU with Engineering.
B. Ergonomics: Good response; will offer another class.
C. JHQ: Possible bug in program. (R. Kadel)
D. Elevator 50A: Call cancel button??? (R. Kadel)
