1.      Self-Assessment Interviews (cont'd)

B.     Discussion of answers

1)        Supervisor's responsibility to see that employees know about these things

2)        Revision of ISM Plan?  Current ISM Plan is very simple, so revision is unnecessary

3)        Responsibilities/Expectations - EH&S (Handout) 

a)      This should go to everyone in Physics Division

C.     Corrective Actions

1)        Make questions more detailed and accurate

2)        Do not use acronyms; make sure interviewees know what acronyms mean

a)      List of acronyms to be on web page

3)        Emphasize importance of JHQ's and ISM when writing summary of interviews

D.     Conclusions

1)        Some have no job descriptions or safety responsibilities are not included

2)        There are a few (4) who say they need additional training

3)        Half of the interviewees don't know of Emergency Info & Stop Work Policy

4)        Some were not aware of Lab Emergency Phone Number

5)        Kathie Hardy to write summary of interviews

Action Item:  Create a summary of Authorizations and SAA's

2.      JHQ Issues

A.     Separate JHQ for Physics?  Online?

B.     Machine training questions not on lab-wide JHQ

C.     Employees redoing JHQ for new evaluation process is optional

3.      Autoclave

A.     One research associate/student working in autoclave

Action Item:  Will address MOU at next meeting

4.      Ergo Presentation - 05/30/02

A.     Some miscommunication regarding starting time

B.     Technical difficulties with audio/visual equipment

C.     Some employees left class early

Action Item:  How can we get people to take ergo seriously and realize its importance?
