Attendees: J. Emes, K. Hardy, R. Kadel, J. Kadyk, N. Palaio, F. Rosado, B. Savnik, C. Thompson, M. White
Self-Assessment
Criteria:
- Additional environmental items now required
- Additional measures for ergonomics
- Chemical inventory was put back into criteria (was formerly removed)
- Peroxide Formers
- OSHA completion rate is included – PH is already in the “green” – very few OSHA findings
- Effective program for students is required
- PH has put together the first student meeting – very effective
- A follow-up student meeting coming up in February
- PH is lacking in LCATS data entry – KH working on doing better at this
SRC Info:
- Laser Safety
- Number of accidents not very accurate – puts us in a bad light – looks like there’s more than there is
- We have no control over what happens at Campus, but are held responsible for accidents
- Test program developed for laser supervisor to go through safety techniques with all laser users
- EHS
Director has some items of interest regarding laserts that she will bring up in Laser Safety Meeting (
EH&S OPS Meeting:
- Discussions about OSHA violations – Not too many for PH
- Dangerous ground-breaking by contractors on-site
- Call M. White with any questions or needed assistance with hazardous wastes
- New Employee Orientation – One on Tuesday, one on Wednesday
- Accident stats are down
- Workers comp rates are down
- Space discussions
- Graded “outstanding” in Appendix F review

- Inspections – Jan. 24 @11AM
- Meeting with Engineering re: MOU
- Site Access
- Anyone with Campus ID can come on-site – big issue
- Everyone should have a bagde
