Standard PC Installation SLA
With the award of the BOA for standard PCs, the CIS
Department has established a fixed fee of $100 for the installation/integration of these
computers into the LBNL computing environment. This fee covers the following services:
- Pre-installation consulting to identify connectivity issues,
electrical issues, establish accounts (Novell, Email, Calendar, etc.), and identify
layered subscription requirements (LETS, Pcard, IRIS, Focus, and HRIS).
- Delivery and check-out of the system as received from the
manufacturer.
- Installation of the LBNL
standard software load.
- Installation of the appropriate layered subscription applications;
actual access to the applications may require prior authorization.
- Delivery of the system to the user's location (Berkeley site only).
- Integration of the system into the user's environment.
This fee does not cover the costs associated with establishing
network connectivity (e.g., network port, cables, etc.), surge protectors, user training,
or any customization of the system.
When the computer is received by LBNL shipping, it will be sent to the
CIS MAC/PC group for processing. MPSG will contact the user and confirm
the configuration, target location, identify any other issues associated
with the installation of the equipment, and make an appointment to
complete the work.
