The latest PC configuration based on the MPC (formerly Micron) ClientPro 345 has some changes under the Lab’s Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for PCs:

The range of Pentium IV processors available on the contract starts at 2.6GHz and extends to the 3.2GHz processor. New peripheral devices include 32MB and 128MB flash memory drives that plug into the USB (version 1.1 or 2) slot on the computer – a fast and easy way to transfer data. Configurations can include up to 2GB of main (RAM) memory, one or two hard drives, and capacity choices of 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB. Micron and Samsung flat panel monitors can be ordered at 15, 17,19, and 21.3 inches.

ITSD also made the switch to Office 2003 with the MPC Basic Ordering Agreement, effective Jan 12. Users who have a specific need to use a downrev version can do so, but they will have the legal right to upgrade to 2003 when desired. The lab standard Windows XP image will utilize Office 2003 starting late January, with the conclusion of some compatibility tests with corporate applications.
