March 5 Printer Expo to Showcase HP Printers and Kyocera Digital Copiers

Learn about the latest Hewlett-Packard printers and Kyocera digital copiers with scan and print functions at a Printer Expo offering product displays and short presentations on Wednesday, March 5. Sponsored by ITSD's Computing Infrastructure Support (CIS) Department, the Printer Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Perseverance Hall and all interested employees are invited. Refreshments will be served.

Product demonstrations will be given from 11 a.m. to noon and 1-2 p.m. At noon, Calvin Hunter of HP will talk about where the company's printer technology is heading and will discuss the firm's lines of products. Mike McLaughlin of Kyocera will then talk about digital copiers and their multi-functionality.

Representatives from HP will be displaying the company's LaserJet 4200 series, which features print speeds of 35 pages per minute; the portable DeskJet 450 series, and the Business InkJet 2600 color series. HP will also feature the Photosmart 812 Digital Camera and the Photosmart 130xi Color Inkjet Printer, which prints borderless 4x6-inch photos.

Kyocera will present the KM-4530 digital copier with scanning and printing capabilities, the KM-9500 printer with duplex and stapling functionalities, and several smaller dedicated printers. Since July 2002, MBA of California has placed 181 Kyocera digital copiers at the Lab, but many divisions have yet to realize the full potential of these copiers.
