ITSD’s Nat Stoddard Named Help Desk Engineer of the Year in SF Bay Area

Nat Stoddard, a member of the Lab’s Help Desk staff, has been selected as the “Help Desk Engineer of the Year” by the San Francisco/Bay Area Chapter of the Help Desk Institute, an international organization of help desk professionals. Nat, who received his award at Dec. 10 dinner and awards ceremony, will next compete with representatives from 10 other chapters in the West Coast Regional selection in February. See the upcoming edition of Computing and Communications Services News for details on this award.

The Help Desk Institute is the world's largest membership association for the service and support industry, with more than 7,500 members worldwide and more than 50 active U.S. and Canadian local chapters. As a member of the SF/Bay Area chapter, the Lab Help Desk team is able to network with other Bay Area corporations such as Clorox, Bank of America, Charles Schwab and Providian Corporation, to name a few, to share best practices with fellow helpdesk staffers. This allows the ITSD Helpdesk staff to keep abreast of new technology and trends taking place today in the support industry, said Help Desk Team Lead Josie Galvan.

“This recognition means a lot to each of us within the ITSD Help Desk,” Galvan said. “Nat’s impressive dedication in providing outstanding technical support day in and day out in the challenging environment of LBNL is no small feat. His willingness to share ideas and knowledge with his co-workers also makes him a pleasure to work with on a day-to-day basis as well.”
