Have questions or concerns about such services as central email, desktop
computer support, telephones, networking, central business applications,
TEID and computer security? If so, Lab staff members can contact their
division representative
on the Computing and Communications
Services Advisory Committee, or CSAC. CSAC works directly with managers
and staff in the Information Technologies
and Services Division to review and improve existing services or develop
new ones.
Recent areas of discussion include spam blocking, TEID publishing costs,
evaluation of Internet browser and email clients, wireless networking
and the future of the Lab library (see related article in this issue).
CSAC has formed topical working groups to work closely with the departments
within TEID and provide direct input, as well as help bring larger issues
to the table for informed discussion. The CSAC
Website includes links to many of the committee’s reports and
presentations.
