Under the Lab's site license for Symantech's Norton Anti-Virus Software, Lab employees who use their home computers for Lab-related work can also install the anti-virus software on their home machine. Under the license, if the software is installed on a Lab computer used by one person 80 percent of the time, that person is also allowed to use the software on one home computer.

The latest version of the software is available from the Lab's Software Downloads page. Employees can log onto this page from home using their LDAP name and password (the same ones used to log onto the email and calendar systems). Finally, once the software is installed, it needs to be updated regularly (weekly, if not daily) to ensure protection from the newest viruses and worms.
