Scientific Computational Servers

The IT Division offers central UNIX account on its central scientific server, UX8. UX8 is a 12-processor Sun Enterprise 4500 server. This system is available for general computation, program development, file sharing, and access for unloading and publishing content on the LBNL web server, www.lbl.gov . UX8 also has a 4 concurrent user license for Wolfram Research's Mathematica software. Unlimited CPU usage is included as part of the monthly account fee.
