Service Announcements
In July 2006, the Library revised its Circulation Policy. After review and consideration by the Library Advisory Committee, a decision was made to eliminate online renewals in order to compel the physical return of borrowed items. The current policy is a borrowing period of 60 days, with renewals accomplished through a physical return of the materials to a Librarian for processing and renewal, pending any recalls for the items, notwithstanding. Please address comments to this issue to the Library Head: Jane Tierney, jetierney@lbl.gov

Policies/Guidelines/Terms of Service
The Library is the official purchasing agent for buying books, journals, and other library-type materials. See: RPM R6.01.
Most Library materials (e.g., books, reports, and preprints) circulate for 60 days. Library materials must be brought back to the Library at that time. No renewals by email, phone, web, etc. Video cassettes circulate for 5 days. Journals (bound or unbound) do not circulate. You may visit the Library and make xerox copies of articles at that time.
When you take out Library materials in person, please be certain to print your name and employee ID number legibly on the circulation card. If the Library is attended, please leave the signed circulation card at the desk; otherwise, please deposit the completed circulation card in the receptacles we have provided.
