Based on an initial analysis, it does not appear a contract for a standard workgroup server would be useful to the lab. Configuration is very dependent on the dollars available and the specific need that must be met.

As a result, our advice is as follows:

For Mac Xservers, research what you want on the Apple site.

For Windows, review what Dell has to offer (The Dell premier page is accessible from the recommended laptop link. Use the systems tab at the top of the page to review any Dell product).

For Linux or for a platform independent file server, follow the Linux custom systems link.

In all cases, develop a quote that matches your requirement and forward it to the person responsible for entering requisitions into the Procurement system in your division.
