Sunflower Asset Management System (AMS)

Description:
Sunflower Asset Management System is licensed from Annams Systems Corporation. It was acquired and installed in 1998 for the Property Management unit in Financial Services. Sunflower Asset Management (AMS) was expressly designed to address specific property inventory and accounting needs of government agencies.

AMS is used to maintain inventory of capital assets, those with acquisition values of $25,000 and more, and “sensitive” items, items designated as requiring inventory tracking. Inventory accounting functions provide standard capitalization and maintenance of the capital equipment’s depreciation schedule. Depreciation journals are made to the Laboratory general ledger each accounting period.

AMS has a tiered functional implementation. The Property Management unit has extensive client-server functionality. Property Representatives for each operating or research unit also have access to client-server functions. Property custodians assigned specific assets have access to a number of Web functions allowing management of individually assigned assets.
