paper sizes (a4, etc.)

I sent a postscript doc to be printed on at1 and it wouldnt print anything after the banner page and the message said "waiting for a4 paper" or something like that ... any idea if there is some way to convert an a4 doc to a US papersize if you just have the PS? I might be able to get the TeX or SGML or origial src but was wondering if there was some PS resizing utility that would work reasonably well [i.e. not xv :-)].

On the Computer Center Sun machines
module qload local
makes a42us.sh available. This script creates a PS file with US-letter dimensions from a PS file with A4 dimensions.
usage: a42us.sh infile outfile

Background

Some information you may found useful in fixing documents created for A4 paper, which is a standard paper size outside the USA. Make papersize "letter" and change page size -- to 8.5 by 11. There are 72 points per inch.

A4 paper is 8.26x11.69 inches; PostScript points are 72 points to an inch.
