UNIX-based Distributed Print overview, commands, charges
LBNL Computing Services supports a variety of printers located
throughout the Laboratory through its UNIX-based Distributed Printing
System.

Printer requirements: PostScript-compatibility
The printer MUST print PostScript.
For example, printers that print ONLY HP PCL will NOT work with our UNIX distributed printing system.
JetDirect
Our UNIX distributed printers are all accessed via the CUPS (Common UNIX Printing) software;
as of July, 2003, we no longer use AppleTalk in our UNIX printing system.
