The Library updated its book circulation policy, effective July 1, after careful consideration with the LBNL Library Committee (LLC). Books will be loaned for a period of 60 days. At the end of 60 days, patrons may physically return the book and check it out again, if no one else has requested it. There will no longer be online renewals.
Between now and July 1, there will be an amnesty for all overdue books. Patrons will have 90 days to return borrowed books, or be charged replacement costs, plus a $20 handling fee. Please deposit overdue books in the locked Book Drop Box located in the Library in Building 50. Do not leave books borrowed in your name in any other location unattended. This policy does not affect Interlibrary Loans, materials borrowed from other libraries, which are limited to 30 days. Please direct inquiries to Jane Tierney, Library Head.
