The IT Division has seen increased interest in Apple products by UNIX/Linux users as well as traditional Mac users. During the Mac fair, IT Division staff will provide a hands on look at Bootcamp (dual boot Mac and XP) as well as parallels for desktop Mac software, which supports multiple operating systems in a virtual environment.
At the last LBNL Mac Users' Group meeting on June 22, Ron Ustach of Apple talked about Mac integration with the Windows environment. Nat Stoddard of the IT Help Desk tested and confirmed that it worked. IT plans to demonstrate Mac integration with the Lab's Windows Active Directory environment for interested customers who find themselves in mixed platform environments.
