You may be one of the employees who has seen a bit more spam in your email inbox lately. Depending on new attacks, the amount of spam is always in flux. The IT Division is in the process of installing a new upgrade to the spam blocking system, and is evaluating new anti-spam software and hardware solutions. To help keep the Lab’s current Symantec Brightmail spam blocker up to date, please submit all spam to spam@lbl.gov by forwarding the email as an attachment. To do that:
These emails go directly to Symantec's anti-spam signature-generating system. Although these submissions are used to make Symantec’s anti-spam definitions, submitting a specific email does not guarantee an immediate stop that specific spam. Symantec recommends making same-day submissions, because more recent reports of spam get more weight in blocking.
