| New Program Offers Adobe Software at Reduced Prices to Lab Employees | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Increasing demand by Lab employees for Adobe software products has resulted in special pricing for many Adobe products, including Acrobat (for converting documents to PDF), Photoshop (for processing images) and Illustrator (for creating illustrations). Because we anticipate strong demand for these products under the special pricing arrangement, each Lab division has been asked to appoint one person as the ordering contact and to use one project ID number for the division order. Questions about the products and prices should also be funneled through the division contact. The product list below reflects the prices on some products available to LBNL employees under the new Adobe Contractual Licensing Program. The cost-saving over individual pricing is substantial. However, the ability of the Lab to obtain these prices requires a minimum number of software purchases, so orders must be coordinated by the Lab's Site License Coordinator. Here are the Adobe Contractual Licensing Program prices listed by product. And, yes, Adobe Acrobat and GoLive DO cost more for the upgrade than for the new versions. Obviously, the new versions are the better buys. The maintenance costs cover support for the required 2-year minimum term. New media must be purchased for new releases.
