DOE to Sponsor On-Site Security Training in November, December

As part of its overall program to enhance cyber-security, the Department of Energy has contracted with an outside training firm to provide additional "Cyber Security Awareness" at DOE sites around the country. At Berkeley Lab, six different classes will be presented in 10 sessions scheduled from Tuesday, Nov. 30, through Thursday, Dec. 2. The training is being provided at no charge to the Lab or employees.

The classes are primarily for computer system administrators and others responsible for security for specialized servers. Class size will be limited to 35 people. Classes to be offered are Cyber Security Awareness for Managers, UNIX System Security, Windows NT System Security, Network Security, Web Server Security and Mail Server Security. One or more of these classes can be used to fulfill the annual four-hour course requirement for system administrators.
