Lab Revs Up More Powerful Search Engine

Beginning Monday, April 26, the Lab's standard search engine will be Ultraseek, a commercial application from Infoseek. Unlike the Lab's previous search engine, which allowed employees to search only specific areas of the Lab's web sites, Ultraseek lets you look for documents anywhere within the lbl.gov domain. You can also include the domains nersc.gov and es.net

Jed Donnelley, a web expert in NERSC's User Services Group, suggested the Infoseek software for its capabilities. Martin Gelbaum of the Computing Infrastructure Technology Group is setting up and will administer the new search engine.

Try the new search engine.
