What is Berkeley Lab Computing News? Welcome to the first issue of Berkeley Lab Computing News, an electronic newsletter designed to give Lab computer users more information about their desktop systems. Computing News is produced by the Lab’s Information and Computing Sciences Division, which is responsible for computer infrastructure support, computer protection and Lab-wide information systems and support. This first issue is being sent to all Lab employees with email addresses. After that, only those employees who wish to receive the newsletter will be on the distribution list -- you may take your name off the list using the subscription form at http://www.lbl.gov/ICSD/CIS/compnews/cn-lists.html. Also, we are sending an html version to all employees who have IMAP4 accounts. This version has links to the complete text of all the articles. Employees using other email applications will receive a plain text version, with URLs for the complete text.
