at Bay Area middle schools - Berkeley Lab Adventure Zone in Elementary
Science (BLAZES)
BLAZES is a 3-hour workshop held on-site for Bay Area 5th grade classes. - Berkeley Lab Educational Visits (BLEV) A customized 1 - 2 hour program, including a general introduction to the Lab, appropriate hands-on activities,and a facility tour linked to the group's interests.
- BLISS Resource Center
Science Education and support for Berkeley Lab employee volunteers - Cool Your School Cool Your School is a student-focused, hands-on educational campaign that aims to inspire kids to make their schools a positive force for combating climate change. - Expanding Your Horizons Network Expanding Your Horizons is a non-profit organization that encourages young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.
- Hands-On Universe Hands-On Universe allows students to learn and be inspired about science by actually working with real scientific astronomical images, and measure and discover real things.
- Introductory College-Level Experience in Microbiology The Introductory College Level Experience in Microbiology (iCLEM) provides Bay Area youth from communities traditionally underrepresented in the sciences with paid research internships in state-of-the-art microbiology labs.
- Technovation Challenge The mission of the Technovation Challenge is to promote women in technology by giving girls the skills and confidence they need to be successful in computer science and entrepreneurship.
