SULI (Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship)
Program Description
- This program by the Department of Energy places undergraduate students from 4-year institutions in paid internships with scientists or engineers on projects related to the Lab's research programs.
Support includes:
- $425/week Stipend
- $1250 Housing supplement
- Travel supplement when applicable

Audience/Eligibility
- Undergraduate students in 4 year institutions majoring in science or engineering
- US citizenship or permanent resident status required.
- Participants must have medical insurance during their time at the Lab.
- A limited number of internships may be awarded to students who have recently graduated.

Selection Process
- Scientists review applications and select a student based on their needs.
- Please note that selection and placements start well ahead of the application deadline.
- Apply early to increase your chances of being selected.
Deliverables/
Requirements
- Complete the full ten or sixteen week program
- Complete entrance and exit surveys
- Submit a complete copy of a research paper and poster
- Submit an abstract of research in the required format
- Attend all scheduled events including lectures, tours and group activities.
- Complete all LBNL safety and procedural requirements
